PLEASE NOTE: This image is designed to be gallery framed on gloss paper, and not specifically to be printed on canvas. That's why it has a small white border. I suggest Gallery Framing. Gallery framing usually uses a black frame (I use model HP4) and a white matte calculated at about 25-35% of the print's width.
As an example, a 16x20" print would need a 4" to 5" bright white matte.
These are just my suggestion and how museums usually frame photographs. All the photos in my home, (both monotone and color) are framed this way. It makes the image stand out, while giving a consistant look for all your hanging images.
About Lar Matre
Lar Matre was born in California near the middle of the 20th century. His parents remember that he started drawing just after he started walking, showing his artistic abilities very early on. Upon entering school, he quickly became the class artist, focusing on illustration, but his deep down passion was photography. Life, LOOK, and National Geographic were his favorite picture magazines. Lar bought his first 35mm camera at the age of 14. He then taught himself processing and printing from library books. Many were returned late ... some with a chemical smell. As an award-winning photographer, Matré went on to shoot print advertising for national clients; produce, direct, and film broadcast advertising; and produce and direct...

This is a very cool shot, I really like the contrast between the colorful foreground and the whiteish (ghostlike as mentioned above) background. Nice!
Lar Matre replied:
Thanks James!

Thank you, sir. Those are the exact two elements that have always drawn my eyes. When it turns green, I'll know it's time for me to go ... ;)
