NOTE: all images with a white border (like this one) are designed exclusively for printing on paper, then matting and framing (my preference).
I recommend a white mat with a black frame (model HP4), which is referred to as gallery framing (similar to what is shown above). The mat should be about 4" on a 16" print, or about one-quarter of the print dimension on other sizes. It can't really be too large, but it can be too small. These are my suggestions from decades-long experience.
A borderless image is perfect for canvas, acrylic, and metal prints.
